Chigwaja Follow-up Donation
In March 2024, following the state of emergency declared by the President of Malawi due to hunger, the Makazi Foundation launched a heartfelt donation campaign to support families still recovering from the devastating impact of Cyclone Freddy in 2023. The campaign aimed to provide immediate relief through essential food supplies, clothing, and other necessities.
About the project
Mobilizing Resources and Community Support
With great enthusiasm, the Foundation rallied its team and community members to collect donations and raise funds. The collective effort resulted in meaningful contributions from generous individuals, including the Founder and dedicated members, who helped raise K554,000 to support vulnerable families.
Delivering Essential Aid
The funds raised enabled the Foundation to provide nutritious food items such as soya and maize flour, as well as essential school supplies like pens and notebooks. Alongside these, donated clothes were distributed, bringing comfort and relief to families affected by the cyclone.
Commitment to Compassion and Action
This initiative exemplifies the Makazi Foundation’s unwavering commitment to uplifting communities in need through timely, compassionate, and impactful interventions. We are proud to stand alongside those affected, helping to rebuild hope and resilience for a brighter future.
