2025 AGM

On April 27, 2025, The Makazi Foundation hosted its Annual General Meeting under the theme “Leave No One Behind,” a powerful reflection of our commitment to empowering vulnerable youth through holistic education, psychosocial support, and vocational skills development.

Held at a moment of tremendous growth, the AGM brought together board members, volunteers, and strategic partners to reflect on our journey, celebrate our impact, and align on key priorities for 2025–2026.

About the project

Strengthening Internal Leadership

This year’s AGM emphasized internal leadership development and the spirit of excellence across all Makazi operations. All members will be undergoing targeted leadership training to reinforce professionalism, integrity, and accountability as core values. These sessions will be part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to self-education and continuous learning; a value we not only promote externally but live internally.

Key Highlights

  • Program Impact Review: A look back at our initiatives across mental health, environmental conservation, and gender-based violence awareness, including tree planting campaigns, youth dialogues, and health-centered workshops.

  • Men’s Mental Health Focus: A renewed push for inclusive psychosocial programming, with male-targeted workshops and podcast content expanding into 2026.

  • Excellence in Execution: A new operational framework centered around quality, innovation, and measurable impact across all departments.

As we move into the next chapter, The Makazi Foundation remains grounded in the belief that transformation begins from within. With a strengthened team and a renewed strategic plan, we are positioned to expand our reach while maintaining a deep, community-driven approach.

We are raising a generation of emotionally intelligent, self-reliant, and purpose-driven youth; one program, one conversation, and one community at a time.
