Mental Health & Holistic Education

On November 11th, 2023, The Makazi Foundation deepened its commitment to mental health awareness and holistic education by facilitating a student dialogue session at Chiradzulu Secondary School. This initiative was part of our ongoing effort to provide psychosocial support to young people through safe, engaging, and educational platforms.

About the project

Starting point

The primary goal of the session was to create a safe space for students to explore and discuss important issues around mental health, emotional well-being, and personal development. Through meaningful dialogue, we encouraged students to voice their thoughts, challenges, and needs; empowering them to take an active role in shaping their own well-being.

Listening Through Data

As part of the session, students completed anonymous questionnaires designed to gather insights into their emotional and mental health challenges. This data is instrumental in helping The Makazi Foundation develop programs that directly respond to the students’ lived experiences and support their holistic growth.

Student Engagement and Participation

As part of the session, students completed anonymous questionnaires designed to gather insights into their emotional and mental health challenges. This data is instrumental in helping The Makazi Foundation develop programs that directly respond to the students’ lived experiences and support their holistic growth.

This session provided The Makazi Foundation with valuable direction for future programming and reaffirmed the importance of integrating mental health awareness into school curricula.

We remain dedicated to nurturing emotionally intelligent, well-rounded youth by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to thrive; both in and out of the classroom.
